Résumé
Cet article tente de définir les termes économique et social, tout en montrant l’incontournable problématique économique des organisations sociales. Il s’appuie sur un cas d’établissement pour handicapés dans lequel la direction a souhaité sensibiliser l’ensemble de son personnel aux enjeux économiques de l’activité, afin d’assurer la survie de l’établissement. Il s’agit ensuite de tirer des enseignements du cas, pour encourager un management intégrateur social et économique.
Abstract
This paper attempts to define the terms “economic” and “social”, without losing sight of the inescapable economic problematics that social institutions face. It is based on the case of an institution for handicapped persons whose executive directors undertook to increase employee-awareness on the economic consequences of their activity, in an attempt to guarantee the establishment’s survival. Lessons will be drawn from the case, which encourage a management approach that combines social and economic concerns.
